# Tune and prune skills

> Rename, refine, or remove forged skills.

After forging custom skills, you can update or remove them as your workflow changes.

## Tune a skill

1. Select the custom skill you want to update.
2. Describe what needs to change, such as its name, instructions, inputs, or behavior.
3. Review the updated skill before saving it.

The assistant validates the updated skill before saving.

## Prune a skill

1. Review your forged skills and usage.
2. Select the skills you want to delete.

## Notes

Tuning and pruning only apply to skills you created with Forge. Built-in skills cannot be tuned or pruned.
